Challenger Institute of Technology has training for ship building apprentices at their Henderson Campus

Our University Pathways page shows what courses and careers are available upon receiving your qualification, both at Challenger Institute and at University. Additionally, you also get to see an example of what kinds of jobs each qualification level prepares you for should you instead choose to enter the workforce.

Fees are payable at the time of enrolment and the total charge is currently made up of the following components:

• Tuition fees: these fees apply to all qualifications - including apprenticeships and traineeships - except access and bridging courses. Please note that you may be eligible for a concession on tuition fees. Please contact the Institute for concession categories.  
• Resource fee: this fee covers the cost of materials and consumables provided by Challenger. Resource fees vary depending on the content of the course. Some courses such as marine studies, fishing operations, horticulture and outdoor recreation, incur high resource fees.

If you have work related skills and experience, but don’t have a qualification or award to confirm it, then you may be eligible to apply for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).

RPL can help you fast track your way to a nationally recognised qualification, or part of a qualification, without having to study areas in which you can already prove your competence. This option can be discussed with Challenger's Career Development Centre prior to enrolment. Further information can be found at our Recognition of Prior Learning page.
